Green-tailed Towhee
This was not the perch I anticipated when I played tape for this species, but I was able to swing my lens around in time to capture this beautiful example before he/she ducked into the underbrush. Ideally, I would have closed down to f/8 to get more depth-of-field across the perch and tail, but there wasn't time make that change - and the corresponding shutter adjustment - in the split second the subject offered. I think it worked out pretty well for a pseudo-set-up shot regardless.
