Buff-tailed Coronets
I don't have many multiple-bird frames in my collection, so I was stoked to capture this confrontational stare-down as these guys for vied for dominance over a feeder hung just outside of the frame. Fill flash added detail to the subjects on this very cloudy day, and was I really lucky to get nice catchlights in the eyes of both birds! This species inhabits cloud forests in Venezuela, Colombia, and Ecuador and is usually very approachable at lodge feeder arrays.
