This is NOT a rooster; It is a Red Junglefowl, the wild precursor to that familiar domestic. This very skittish male approached a deep forest hide outside Kaeng Krachan National Park, and I was really happy he wandered close enough to the blind for me to capture this highly-detailed headshot (still a fairly heavy crop). The background isn't as even/smooth as I usually like, but I think the colors imparted by the direct sunlight help minimize the distraction.
