Long-billed Thrasher

My first frame of this sneaky bird! I'd seen it on many previous trips to the Rio Grande Valley, but I'd not had a decent photo opportunity until I visited the Laguna Seca Ranch and its amazing blinds. Sure, this is a set-up shot where the bird was lured with food, but my prediction, even at this January point, is that this frame will end up as one of my 2021 favorites. I love how the perch divides the frame into quadrants, the bird nicely framed in the middle. Can't go wrong with the moss and lichens!
