Common Goldeneye

While I've had a couple nice encounters with females in the last few years, I've totally struck out on males in that time, my only frames from my early photo days 7 years ago when I was living in Massachusetts. Those not up to my current standards, I was stoked when this guy swam within striking distance at a local Bay Area pond. The best part about this shot? I took it with the same 1.4x teleconverter I dropped into a lake in Golden Gate Park two days prior! Neither protective cap was in place, and it submerged for a solid three seconds before I retrieved it. I spent 5 minutes shaking water out of the circuitry and jammed it into a bag of rice when I got home 30 minutes later. I tested it the next day, and it looked functional. This result from 48 hours after the plunge reveals it as good as new.
