Canvasback

This female was the first Canvasback example which swam into shooting range on this day, and I was really happy to capture her in warm morning light. Little did I know I'd have to wait an additional two hours for another hen to come so close. The males were really curious and trusting in the interim, but the females stayed just out of range for most of the morning. This lady was a bit passed me, but a quick whistle made her turn her head to yield this look-back pose.
