Anna's Hummingbird

This guy lives in the bayside park half-a-mile from my San Mateo apartment. I see him perched on the same twig every time I visit the location, but I was slow to photograph him because the park is generally useless for photography, my time used for birding instead. When I finally found the activation energy to bike my rig over to the park, I stood on a rock pile abutting his favored shrub and shot across the bay to generate this gently-graded background. It was hella windy, so he's leaning into the western gales to minimize drag and associated wobble. I was very close to him, so closing down to f/10 increased my depth-of-focus and kept every feather in focus. He's a bit tight in the frame, but I couldn't move the rock pile farther back; the 1,4x TC would have worked if I wanted to do a bit more cropping.
