Savannah Sparrow
I've captured this species previously - though not in the last 8 years - but I think this result exceeds all of those efforts. This individual was hopping around a coastal cliff while I was photographing puffins, so I turned my lens on it when I was finished with the alcids. I thought this lichen-covered rock would make a great perch, and I fired off a bunch of frames when the subject fortuitously assumed it. The blue background results from a distant coastal bay. I like how the yellow lore matches the lichens.
