Western Sandpiper
I was hella dirty after crawling around on the San Francisco Bay mudflats, but it was totally worth it once I returned home and put this frame into the computer. I'm only afforded a two-week window to photograph this species in breeding plumage before they migrate to the Arctic for the summer, so I was glad to capture this rufous individual on a clean patch of the usually-cluttered bayshore. This is a great example of getting low to create blur and isolate the subject.
