Hudsonian Godwit

***same San Mateo vagrant as the previous frame***
It took a bit of time to isolate this individual from the group of Marbled Godwits with which it was associating, but he/she finally wandered far enough from them for me to capture a wider-view frame to highlight the smooth tidal zone in which the birds were feeding. I generally prefer to have the bird's head up, but they spend so much time poking in the sand that it's nice to capture that behavior as well.
