Greater Yellowlegs

(2nd of two shots of same bird) I see this species all the time -- they're common across the lower 48 states and in my home Bay Area -- but it's been 8 years since I last photographed it. I was living in Massachusetts at that time and was very new to photography, so this frame represents a huge improvement over anything I had before this encounter. It is a long overdue result! This is the same bird as in the shot to the left.
