Lord of the Flies! This shot came out exactly as I imagined when I dove into the mud to capture it I had to crawl ~100 feet through some of the nastiest stuff I've ever braved, and I was covered in insects of various sizes and shapes by the time I approached close enough to click the shutter. Getting low and dirty is a lot of work , but it allows me to capture unique frames like this. Had I shot from even a few inches higher, the cloud of flies would have been lost against a uniformly dark foreground. Definitely one of the most unique shots in my collection.
