Common Gallinule

This is a overdue shot for my collection. This species is widespread and common, but they're usually hiding in the reeds or occupying cluttered spaces. I was stoked to find this individual stalking prey in the open, and a quick whistle caught its attention just as I clicked this frame. There's nothing wrong wit the thigh; they're red in this species!
