I don't have many opportunities to photograph land birds, so I was holding my breath as I approached this notoriously-spooky passerine in my rolling car-blind. This representative proved unimaginably cooperative, and I was surprisingly able to exit the vehicle and achieve a standing position, an elevated vantage which yielded this two-toned background. Had I remained seated, I would have been shooting up on the bird and ended up with a mostly blue/sky background.
