Greater Prairie-Chicken

I don't usually shoot while leading tours for Tropical Birding because I'm busy spotting and identifying birds for clients, but frigid temperatures lent unexpected opportunity on this morning. With my five clients sheltered in the van to stay warm, I exited the vehicle and spent ninety minutes sprawled on the frozen earth. I captured 1000+ frames of the birds, and I kept on this fourth of six because it was the best of a burst I captured as this bird flew from one side of the lek to the other. I'm super stoked with the open beak and dangling feet. It looks like he's levitating!
