Mountain Chickadee
This is a heavily set-up shot from the Sandia Mountains outside Albuquerque. There was one tiny, decaying feeder at the summit, and - channeling my inner MacGyver - I lashed a single branch to the support pole with a shoelace removed from one of my hiking boots. The shooting angles were atrocious because of surrounding trees, but I was able to find a suitable window through which I captured this frame. It's not perfect, but I'll take it considering the heavy overcast and unyielding wind. My left foot nearly froze without the ability to tie my hiking boot.
