Cape Buffalo

I'd seen several of these at distance through my first week in South Africa, but it wasn't until I encountered this big fella that I was offered any sort of photographic opportunity. As lot of my mammal shots are head-on, but I couldn't resist the symmetrical look at the trademark horns. Not sure what's going on with the scabby/bloody ears though. I would never have noted those in the field.
