Lion
This was, without a doubt, one of the most incredible wildlife experiences of my life. I saw several lions on my previous trip to South Africa -- and a few more on this second visit -- but none waked within five feet of my open, driver's-side window before plopping down in the road! This individual is easily recognized in the Satara region because he carries a genetic mutation which renders his fur very blonde compared to other males. I like how the diffuse, overhead light illuminated his pale mane on this rainy morning.
