Greater Yellowlegs (1 of 2)
After getting zero decent frames of this widespread wader since moving out of Massachusetts in 2013, I've had two amazing opportunities at it in the last month, the other while guiding at the Rio Grande Birding Festival in early-November. While those birds captured on were on tidal sandflats, these were encountered in a freshwater impoundment backed by rocky hillsides; it is that geology which imparted this and the adjacent frame with their unique colors. I'm happy to finally give this species some long-overdue photographic love.
