Black-necked Stilt (juvenile)

I often dismiss young of this species in favor of the more striking adults, but I was glad I didn't ignore this fledgeling as he patrolled the lakeshore mud. Though overlooked in the viewfinder while I struggled to keep the focus point on the foraging bird, the flies were a nice bonus when I reviewed the file after the fact.
