Great Egret
This was one of those opportunistic-type shots I never envisioned when I left the house. I'd gone out to shoot flying terns but turned my lens on this subject when the action slowed. I'd seen him catch a fish about 15 minutes prior to this and was ready when he went back for seconds. He caught another three of the same size in the next half hour, but he didn't turn to face the camera on those iterations. It's always nice to squeeze a decent frame out of a common or overlooked species, so I was stoked with the goofy look this voracious predator gave me.
