Marbled Godwit

I nailed this low-flying Marbled Godwit as he/she battled into a 25 mile-per-hour headwind on San Francisco Bay. Those gales were a huge help as they slowed this fast flier and facilitated capture. If you look closely, you can see the wind rippling the water beneath the bird. I was particularly happy with the spotlight effect the horizontal late-afternoon light produced.
