Black Skimmer

A higher right wing would have revealed more topside feather detail and eliminated the small shadow, but I couldn't part with the super direct eye contact this bird gave me on this pass. I also liked the thin strip of pink at the top; that's the shoreline on the opposite side of San Francisco Bay. Though I'm not sure where it comes from, a number of birds on SF Bay have a yellow cast on the underwing. I was happy to get the dangling feet as my other images don't show those as well!
