Black Skimmer

This is the shot I went to Nickerson to capture; the full topside bank against a split background of sky and dunes! It was surprisingly difficult to get, mostly because of the light angles, but perseverance eventually paid off. 'm a huge fan of direct eye contact from the subject, so I was stoked with this bird's subtle head turn to acknowledge my presence.
