Black Skimmer with Needlefish

I couldn't believe my luck when this bird flew past my vantage with this large and dangling specimen. He had only a precarious grip on the fish's face, but he hung onto it as he maneuvered through colony and towards his two hungry chicks. The prey was too small for the chicks to swallow whole, so the parent spent 20 minutes breaking it into more manageable mouthfuls.
