Lesser Necklaced Laughingthrush
I'm usually hoping for clouds and flat light when shooting forest set-ups, but the isolated beams that penetrated the canopy on this morning made for some fun specularly highlights behind the subject. I'd really struggled to get a nice frame of this species - they spent all their time digging around on the bare and barely lit ground - so I was really happy when this guy hoped onto this branch at a deep forest set-up outside Kaeng Krachan National Park. A quick whistle from me yielded the eye contact for which I'm always looking.
