Common Ostrich

This photo would not have happened without my wife's assistance. I expected the subject would continue trotting along the sun-drenched ridge on which I spotted it, but it unexpectedly turned towards our car and accelerated. I had my 600mm lens mounted at that moment, so I asked my wife to get the 100-400 zoom from the back seat as the bird came at us. In what felt a single motion, she grabbed it and handed it to me. I swapped it in, pointed the camera out the car window, squared the subject in the viewfinder, pressed the shutter, and hoped for the best. As this image shows, ours was an amazing act of teamwork!
