White-quilled Bustard
This bird was very common in Etosha National Park, and I captured this frame after investing an entire evening into the species. Most scampered directly away from the road as we approached in the car, but this bird was kind enough to parallel us for a short while. There wasn't any brush to conceal predators in these wide open surrounds, so I exited the vehicle, crouch downed next to the tire, and took a low angle to this subject. The whole process took about 30 seconds, so harm, no foul, right?
