Given the steep, late-morning light and the busy surroundings, this is an opportunistic record shot and not a planned-and-composed photograph. But it's two White Rhinos in the wild! This animal has suffered precipitous declines at the hands of poachers, dumbasses in certain parts of the world believing the horns have magic or sexual powers, so it was great to bump into this mother and her three-year calf at this undisclosed location in Namibia. Though larger than Black Rhinos, White Rhinos are much less aggressive than that closest relative. We were in little danger as we gazed onto these amazing creatures from a distance of 100 feet.
