This naturally-lit opportunity arose when the afternoon sun broke through cloud at the Tinamu Lodge. I loved the dark breast on the light green background, and I couldn't resist cracking off a few frames despite the rather boring perch. This species ranges throughout Northern South America and generally prefers open areas and secondary growth below 6,600 feet (2,000 meters). The female is equally striking with a central black breast offset by white boarders.
