Glacier Finch
Where's my neck?!?! This portly ground dweller inhabits the Andean Antiplano from Central Peru south to Western Bolivia and Northern Chile. They travel in small groups, and I found them relatively tolerant of approach as I followed them around the windswept habitat. I was happy to capture this bird on the low vegetation on which it spent much time foraging. It was about two seconds after this encounter when the Andean Flicker flew in (also pictured in this gallery).
