Ornate Tinamou
I have to credit my wife with a huge assist on this shot. We were speeding along an Andean Highway when she spotted a 'chicken-thingy' on the side of the road. Suspecting that she'd unknowingly spotted a tinamou, I came to a screeching halt a hundred yards down the road. We switched places to put her in the driver's seat and hastily returned to the bird, this frame captured out the passenger window before a passing truck flushed the bird into the adjacent bushes. I never imagined I'd have such a clear lane to this incredibly shy bird. Big props to Sonia!
