Black-faced Ibis
Leafing through my Chilean field guide ahead of my trip, this badass bird struck me as a species I had to photograph while I was in the country. I saw them nearly daily for the first three weeks, but it wasn't until I found a group of 6 in a roadside pasture on Tierra del Fuego that I had the photographic opportunity I'd be craving. I hopped a small fence, crawled across fifty yards of dried cow pats, and captured this shot. It wasn't until I processed the frame that I noticed the tiny buds and the depth they add to the image. I was hella stoked to end the year with this New Year's eve evening frame!
