Scale-throated Earthcreeper
Suggestive of a thrasher with its hooked beak, this species is a member of the neotropical family Furnariidae (Ovenbirds) and ranges through Chile and Argentina. This individual presented high above Santiago while I was looking for Diademed Sandpiper-Plover, so I paused my shorebird search to crack off a few frames of this confiding subject. The adjacent headshot gives a closer view of the namesake scaly throat. I used f/8 for extra depth-of-field in both instances.
